Alight 04:21
Can you pick me up? I'm far from home Can you give me a ride? you see, I'm all alone I need your help and you're the only one I need you help, come on baby I need you to run Your smile sets it right Your touch sets me alight Yeah, turn to me and burn all night

Reimagined 04:15
Another time, another place, another life A different home, a different face, a different body A greater joy, a greater pain, a greater sorrow I'm reimagined A deeper wound, a deeper scar, a deeper hurt A tiny measure of the love we share Another time, another place, another home I'm reimagined

There's precious little that leaves me at a loss for words There's precious little that brings me back to town But sometimes in the darkest hours or aided by the mystic powers I'm back again faster than the speed of sound Does the world still make a sound If there's no one left who's really listening? Does our love still hold the key If there's nothing spoken, sung or prayed that we believe? There's precious little that brings me to my knees The beauty of the mystery's been reduced to the love of trees But sometimes on the darkest night A single star can shine so bright And I'm back again faster than the speed of sound Does the world still make a sound If there's no one left who's really listening? Does our love still hold the key If there's nothing spoken, sung or prayed that we believe? There's precious little that I love more than you And if truth be known I know you feel it too 'Cause sometimes when we're all alone You sing a song that's mine alone And I'm back again faster than the speed of sound

We've made it through the year after shedding many tears we've fought the battle hard like playin' with the lowest card that's the easy part The children don't see it our way the world just smiles and we're on our way we strive to find another path but it don't add, it's the new math the children, no longer children the world, the same world the smile never left your eyes my love for you was always there, cause that's the easy part

I don't forget the light never left your eyes I can't forget every little simple surprise I'll carry you in my heart in my mind I'm leaving but I'll be back I'll be back

I met a man I'd never seen, never knew, there was nothing there He brought me to a place I'd never seen, never knew, he laid me bare How was this possible how could he do this to me me? what kind of magic did he bring with him, from the cold, dark sea? And his story was of me, but not of me and the hero was no hero, until he came to be and the love which we all want so, and need so dear lay hidden in our hearts, a melody too faint to hear and now it is I writing by candlelight and chasing the girl who vanishes before my eyes and now it is I dreaming in darkness and waiting for the song, the story, to tell my life drifting on an endless blue his song is on the wind drifting on an endless blue drifting on an endless blue my soul is looking for a place to land

In the city of Peel there is a castle lying in ruins I went there to visit with brothers and son We climbed up a steep hill to look down from above and tried to envision all that what said, and all that was done I'll go back to the isle, and I'll stand on that bridge I'll visit the castle and climb up the hill and think of the harper who records every line and yearn for the winds of change that still chill
11.
Sun shines brightly upon us all we're outside the church, greeting your friends and soon we will say goodbye, if we can and try to not to think that this is the end but I can still hear you now, singing your song the one none of us knew, and never could place and I wonder from whence, and who comes the melody and does he now smile down on your face and what would he say to us, when we go our own ways when stories and songs are all that remain out on the breeze, or somewhere between the notes speak to us now, we're thankful you came He says, He's not leaving you now, he's just falling asleep sit by his side and tell him a tale He's not leaving you now, your story is still to be made Don't be afraid, he's there, just turn the page
12.
I have not the words to say how deep my thankfulness I have not the melody to praise you for your deeds I have not the peace of mind to see you as you are you are my king, you are my king I have not the strength to give the lift you gave to me I have not the harmony to live now by the sea But what I have is here, is now To offer up a prayer God, bless this king God, bless this king

about

"And so I left her a paper flower, not a real flower as such would wither and die. But the paper flower will live forever, like a song. And all these things of this world are like the Queen and the rose. But our songs, our poems and our true love are like the imitation. If you think of us, we will be there. And we will be pure, with no fault."

So begins the Thirty-Sixth Leaf from the 99 Leaves, contained in The Book of Sorren. As Sorren has now made his decision, his eyes, his ears, now opened to a greater pleasure, a greater appreciation for the world, he also has a deeper insight which can just as easily betray our less advisable tendencies. This album was inspired by Sorren's story, but with each passing song, each passing story, and each passing life it reminds me that Sorren's trials, though beautiful, are universal.

Special thanks to Scott Brown. This album would not have been possible without his inspiration over the years. Thanks also to Paul Brown who has shown me what is possible by giving of the precious little.
