Prologue 05:13
2.
Missing the sun Missing the sun again Hiding in the hills Beneath the chills
3.
The spirits in the hills they're from the old blood A time before our rise before the great flood The spirits in the hills they yearn for new blood a tangle for the killing, the next million The stars up in the sky they're from the first light A time before our rise before the great night The stars up in the sky they yearn for new light a tangle for the killing, the next million Ouroboros

Hard Bread 03:52
I'm leaving something here Something that my body holds so dear But I give it to the land like a shaking of the hand We're giving our salt to the dead We're livin' on hard bread You've already left something here Something that our bodies hold so dear But you gave it to the land like a shaking of the hand We're giving our salt to the dead We're livin' on hard bread I'm still here you're still here livin' on hard bread
6.
Younger Man 03:54
I saw him in the fields today As I traveled through a shade of grey His voice was crisp and clear across the land It had come to be, the time was now, he was the younger man He came to shake my hand A whistle on his lips As the saying goes, just two passing ships He said it had to be, the time was now, he was the younger man
7.
Don't pet the girl she's a working dog Don't pet the boy he's a hungry hound They're in the fields all day trying to earn their pay Dogs to wolves We're making our way back home Dogs to wolves We need to find a bigger bone Dogs to wolves Better angels on the way? Dogs to wolves They better hurry, there goes the day
8.
The need that never finds its rest that lives alone and slowly bleeds, like yesterday Or the cold that never seems to know its time has passed now shriveled dry, like yesterday A touch can also meet its end if caring comes too slow The hand now bleeding shriveled, dry, like yesterday

10.
Weakness 04:39
There's a weakness in the herd they can hear it my voice There's a sickness on the land that makes no noise There's a star up in the sky that knows our tale There's a page within a book that knows how we will fail (chorus) But you give me strength yeah, you give me peace You give me strength I'm on my knees You make me weak Yeah, you make me weak Grant me the strength To hear you speak There's a weakness in the world You can hear it my voice There's a sickness on the land that makes no noise There's a star up in the sky that knows our tale There's a page within a book that knows exactly how we will fail (chorus) But you give me strength yeah, you give me peace You give me strength I'm on my knees You make me weak Yeah, you make me weak Grant me the strength To hear you speak
11.
Cold 03:48
I'm too old to be livin' in the hills I'm told too old to be here on my own I'm too old to be lovin' all these chills I'm cold The sun came up again today But hands no longer wanna play Their heat is hidden away Hidden away I'm cold You said that I'm too old to be in the hills You said that I'm told too old to be on my own But I'm still breathing, lovin' all these chills I'm cold
12.
I'm lookin' to the night long after the day's just fight I'm gonna try to settle myself down I'm lookin' to the sky I'm lookin' to the hills I'm lookin' for a place to settle myself down I'm lookin' for cigars and whiskey and a starry night aflame above my head Cigars and whiskey two friends by my side until the end I've got all I want and I've got all I need The only missing part is knowing what to believe Whoever runs the show whoever's in the know I'd like to share a dram and settle ourselves down I'm lookin' for cigars and whiskey and a starry night aflame above my head Cigars and whiskey and a stony ground to make my final bed Cigars and whiskey we're rings of smoke that fly into the air Cigars and whiskey things in life are better when we share I'm leaving my salt put it on the glass I'm leaving my salt put it on the glass

about

The songs on this album follow the path of an aging, widowed shepherd, deep inside the Scottish hills. Although his thoughts are often melancholic, he never denies the feeling he still holds for this world. This album is dedicated to those who wait for us.
